Hello, my name is Max Hollingsworth-Hays. I am from Milton, Massachusetts (just outside of Boston), and am a member of the Lawrence University class of 2027. My passions include history, music, theatre, writing, and French. I'm interested in studying history and music in college with a focus on composition. I play the clarinet, saxophone (alto/baritone), and piano. I have composed several classical pieces for various instruments and am a Drum Major in the MHS Wildcat Marching Band. I have also been a part of around a dozen theatrical productions as a member of Milton High School Theatre, which has ranged from acting, crew, and directing. I also love jazz and play in a couple of different ensembles at Milton High School. In addition, I am currently and Eagle Scout Candidate, and for my Eagle service project I built a tubulum PVC pipe instrument for the music program at my elementary school to foster an interest in music at an early age. I am fluent in French and hope to study abroad in France or a French-speaking country.

Eagle Project: Tubulum PVC Pipe Instrument for Tucker Elementary School
For my Eagle Scout project, I wanted to share my love of music with my community. I chose to build a tubulum PVC pipe instrument for Tucker Elementary School, which is a structure made of PVC tubes supported by wood laid out like a piano. I chose Tucker school because it was the elementary school that I attended and because it serves a large number of students from low-income backgrounds. My hope is that students who have the opportunity to explore music at an early age will choose to involve themselves in music and find many of the same joyful opportunities that I have found.
